Lucas Foglia

17 May 2025 - 31 August 2025

Lucas Foglia photographed the world’s longest butterfly migration. Each year, Painted Lady butterflies travel between Africa, the Middle East, and Europe in search of wildflowers. They have been following this route for millions of years. Now, as climate change alters when and where rain falls and wildflowers bloom, Painted Ladies increasingly rely on our parks, farms, and gardens.

While following Painted Ladies, every person Foglia met was experiencing strange weather. Many were refugees traveling to Europe along the same route as the butterflies. In the Painted Lady migration, Foglia sees an allegory for our delicate and interconnected world.

A book titled Constant Bloom, published by Nazraeli Press, will accompany the exhibition.
